Mount an acoustic Doppler profiler, acoustic modem or other subsurface sensor systems onto an existing navigation buoy with the Oceanscience Clamparatus. The unique design of the Clamparatus system facilitates provision of real time navigation data by securing the instrument and associated data transmission equipment to standard Aid to Navigation (ATON) buoys.
The Clamparatus does not require the buoy to which it is attached to be cut, drilled, welded on or changed in any way. It is attached to the buoy with a proprietary clamping system. Current velocity information from the ADCP on the Clamparatus is continuously telemetered to the shore station, and from there offered to ship operations to assist navigation through the NOAA PORTS system. For corrosion resistance and appearance, the Clamparatus is painted with the same system and colors used on Coast Guard buoys. |
